Since her 1998 film debut in Jay Craven's A STRANGER IN THE
KINGDOM, Jordan Bayne has left a powerful and lasting impression in her films,
bringing a unique and versatile presence to very different roles. Bayne’s
range has won her comparisons to such diverse and great actors as Meryl Streep
and James Dean. Bayne had an award nominated turn in the independent film
UNDER HELLGATE BRIDGE with Dominick Chianese and Vincent Pastore where one
critic noted, “Jordan Bayne proves that true strength lies in vulnerability.” She
has also starred across from Martin Sheen and Ernie Hudson in A STRANGER
IN THE KINGDOM and with Sheen again in MERCY OF THE SEA. Her television career
started with Showtime's POLTERGEIST-THE LEGACY and she has also been seen
on LAW & ORDER. Her first role in the theatre landed her onstage with
James Gandolfini and Marisa Tomei in the Naked Angels production of SUMMER
WINDS.
Bayne is making a name for herself as a writer and filmmaker.
Her first film ARGO, starring Jordana Spiro [My Boys, Must Love Dogs] is
an intensely emotional portrayal of two lost souls who impact one another
in unexpected ways. ARGO played the festival circuit worldwide screening
at the Napa/Sonoma Film Festival, NewFilmMakers, Soho House and Sedona among
others, and racked up awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
As
a writer Bayne’s
first installation of a trilogy of shorts FRAGMENTS: No. 1 is being produced
in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil in May 2009 with Oz Productions. Bayne is currently
in pre-production on her next two short films POETIC LICENSE as well as THE
SEA IS ALL I KNOW. |
