WHY?

because art + charity change our world.

On a rainy New York night we managed to throw a wonderful, elegant party with a reading full of heart. My message that evening was "we need each other" to fulfill our purpose. We do not do this alone. We are lifted up on the shoulders of others. Friday night "The Sea Is All I Know" was lifted up on the phenomenal shoulders of Melissa Leo and Peter Gerety. And thus. They lifted me, the filmmaker, up too. Helping me to achieve my purpose. Which is to shephard this film into being. To give it voice.

In another way. charity: water is lifting those in extreme need up on the shoulders of those of us who have being given more. They are asking us to help them lift those less fortunate than ourselves. To help them live lives of purpose and dignity.

Thank you everyone. For being a part of of such a successful evening and helping us to take another small step towards fulfilling our destiny.
